Using Display Screen Equipment
Electrical Safety at Work
Many employees are required to drive on company business at some time or another, but as driving is an activity that involves negotiating hazards and the statutory employers duty of care applies to this activity as much as any other, a proper safety management system should be introduced to reduce the risk of an accident or incident.
Our course takes a fresh look at the dangers inherent in driving at work and how steps can be taken by employers to ensure their employees stay safe whilst at the wheel.
Electricity can be deadly and work on electrical appliances and systems should only ever be undertaken by suitably qualified and competent staff. That said, there are many basic ways an ordinary business can ensure its premises and its employees remain safe.
Our course looks at the ways you can carry our simple risk assessments for electrical systems and equipment and ways you can reduce the risk to your employees from electrical hazards in the workplace.
During this course we look at Display Screen Equipment workstations and the environment in which they exist. Good workplace and job design can have a dramatic effect on the way your employees do their jobs, helping maximise their productivity whilst minimising various risks to them such as upper limb disorders and eye strain.
The course looks at workstation ergonomics, demonstrates how to lay out and adjust a workstation correctly and how to carry out a simple Workstation Assessment that can be used on a regular basis to ensure each workstation meets the needs of the User.
